Fr. Mark Earl is a validly ordained and licensed priest holding faculties in the independent Catholic Church tradition.


He lives in San Diego, California, has officiated many weddings in his twenty years of ordained ministry and is a certified facilitator for pre-marriage counseling.


Wedding rites officiated by Father Mark are according to the rites and ceremonies of the Catholic Church and are valid sacraments. Christian, non-denominational weddings, inter-faith ceremonies can also be conducted. He plans with couples the design of their ceremony to bring dignity, sacredness and joy to their wedding day.


A broad range of options for the wedding rites are available and Fr. Mark is very flexible about including cultural additions to the ceremony.


Ceremonies can be held in the chapel of the church in San Diego, California, or at sites chosen by the couple (at the beach, resorts, hotels, private venues).

Catholics often encounter obstacles when planning a wedding due to circumstances of life as they have experienced it, these might include:

  • Long period of no affiliation with a parish church

  • Divorce - a previous marriage with no church annulment

  • Arrangements for a ceremony in a location other that a parish church

  • A desire for "neutral ground" in the case of interfaith couples

  • A desire to ensure that all guests and family are welcome to attend the ceremony without feeling excluded by the church

  • The incompatibility of other church regulations with a couple's particular desires or needs

  • These are not impediments in independent catholic churches, priests work with couples to celebrate their love and desire to enter married life with dignity, joy and marked by a sacramental ceremony uniting them as husband and wife.
